Time Warner Telecom Inc. (NASDAQ: TWTC) is almost never a volume leader in stocks nor in in options volume.  But this morning there has been 20,050 contracts trade in the JAN09 $20.00 CALL Options traded hands.  The open interest before today was 2,454 contracts.  As a reminder, 20,000 contracts represents some 2 million shares on a fully leveraged basis. After 1 hour and 10 minutes of trading $10:40 AM EST) we have seen 1.13 million shares trade hands and the stock is down 0.6% at $17.94.

Maybe there is more excitement about the pending name change or maybe someone is expecting is a solid presentation at Wachovia’s conference on June 24.
