Price/Volume Alert: Airlines (UAUA, JBLU)
Posted in pre-marketAugust 21st, 2008
Higher gas costs are already rolling back into hitting airline stocks. As some of these have risen 3-fold or more from lows after the last $30+ drop in oil prices per barrel, any rise in black gold takes a toll.
- UAL Corporation (NASDAQ: UAUA) closed yesterday at $12.40 and the last trade at 9:03 AM EST was at $11.23 (-9.44%) on about 173,000 shares.
- Jetblue (NASDAQ: JBLU) is also lower after a $5.46 close with shares down about 3.5% at $5.27 on about 6,200 shares.
NASDAQ airlines are treated as a pre-market trader proxy for day oil-bet trades by many right now because of the more transparency.
