Volume Spike Investor

Rentech, Inc. (AMEX: RTK) is seeing a major surge today.  It hasn’t run on current news, but rather on news that is about to occur.  The company makes ultra-clean synthetic fuel, and the company si going to be featured and interviewed on CNBC tonight by Larry Kudlow.  With airline jet fuel at such high prices and with some commercialization having already started, traders are running it up ahead of the interview.

This is a small cap stock with a $348 million market cap after a near 13% pop to $2.11 today on volume of more than 1.1 million shares (at 3:25 PM).  Its 52-week trading range is $0.82 to $2.60.  It has no stock options.
