Optimer Pharma Volatility Continues (OPTR)

Optimer Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: OPTR) is continuing its third day of the crazy trading.  The company surged on Tuesday because of a hospital-bourne infection result.  Shares rose almost 100% to $9.18 on over 5 million shares that day (a 20X volume spike).  The prior close had been $4.60.  But shares gave almost all of it back yesterday and its stock closed at $5.98.

At 9:25 AM EST shares are up 9% at $6.51 on almost 20,000 shares.  The trading volume here is shrinking, but it looks like the volatility hasn’t gone away.
