Trading GE Upside Via Options (GE)

General Electric Co. (NYSE: GE) is not usually in the most active options contracts.  But its stock has not normally been under $20.00 either.

Today we have seen some    28,604 options contracts trade (as of 1:28 PM EST) in the DEC-2008 $20.00 Call options.  What is interesting is that before today the open interest in these contracts was only listed as 7,913 contracts.

To put this in context, here is the activity today in the nearest 3 speculative strike sprices for this month’s NOV-08 options:
