Medarex surges on 1 mln-share premarket volume

Medarex Inc. (Nasdaq: MEDX) shares are up more than 20% in the premarket and nearly a million shares have traded after The Independent reported on Saturday that patients with an inoperable prostate disease have recovered after a single dose of an experimental drug developed by Medarex and Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. (NYSE: BMY).
