American Axle & Manufacturing Holding Inc. (NYSE: AXL) shares are up more than 9 percent to $2.20 on volume of more than 20k,000 shares as of 8:15 a.m. Eastern. The company’s shares surged as much as 50 percent in Wednesday trading after it said it continues to be in active discussions with lenders ahead of a financial covenant wavier expiration today. — Mike Tarsala
