Ariad Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: ARIA) shares are up 26 percent to $3.10 and are among the most active in premarket trading. The company announced positive preliminary data from two ongoing clinical trials of its investigational mTOR inhibitor, Ridaforolimus, in combination with Herceptin in breast cancer patients and Avastin in patients with refractory, metastatic solid tumors. — Mike Tarsala
