eBay Inc. (Nasdaq: EBAY) shares are up more than 6 percent to $20.76 in early premarket trading of roughly 12,000 shares as of 7:30 a.m. Eastern, and were the the most active Nasdaq shares after hours. The online auction service reported second quarter EPS of 37 cents a share, a penny better than expectations. The company sees Q3 EPS in line, and Q3 revenue slightly higher than expectations. Net total payment volume for the quarter was $16.71 billion, up 12%. Gross merchandise volume rose 2% from the prior quarter to $11.1 billion. The company said it sees modest momentum going into the second half, although sales of big-ticket items remain sluggish. — Mike Tarsala
