PREMARKET ALERT: SunPower (SPWR)

SunPower Corp. (Nasdaq: SPWR) shares rose 16 percent to $29 as one of the most active stocks in Thursday’s after-hours session. The company posted second-quarter EPS of 24 cents a share, or 10 cents above expectations. It issued upside guidance of $1.15 to $1.60 a share or fiscal 2009, vs. 96 cents consensus. — Mike Tarsala
