PREMARKET ALERT: Werner Enterprises (WERN)

Werner Enterprises Inc. (Nasdaq: WERN) shares fell more than 6 percent to $18.10 on volume of about 132,000 shares. The company met EPS expectations of 18 cents a share, but revenue fell 30 percent from year-ago levels and was light of expectations. The company said second quarter 2009 freight comparisons were well below year-ago volumes. — Mike Tarsala
