VOLUME ALERT: Force Protection (FRPT, OSK)

Force Protection Inc. (FRPT) shares are up about 5 percent on volume of about 90,000 shares at the opening of Nasdaq trading. The company announced contracts for both Phase 1 and Phase 2 installation of specifically redesigned TAK-4 independent suspension kits for 1,317 Cougar MRAP vehicles.

Note our post last week involving a contract win for rival Oskkosh Truck (OSK), in which we said there could be potential MRAP business for Force Protection. — Mike Tarsala
