OmniVision Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: OVTI) is continuing its surge as a smartphone winner for all those internal cameras. The company reported a narrower than expected loss after Thursday’s closing bell, but it forecast second-quarter results that were above expectations. It now sees $0.10 to $0.20 EPS on revenue of $155 to $170 million versus Thomson Reuters estimates of -$0.08 EPS and revenue of $108.3 million. Shares were indicated up about 10% last night and we saw almost 600,000 shares trade after the closing bell in the after-earnings trading. This morning at 8:23 AM EST we have shares trading up 15% at $15.35, but we have only seen 6,000 shares trade hands. That will get more active as the bell gets closer and the average volume here is over 800,000 shares. Anything above $13.68 marks 52-week highs on this stock. -JON OGG
