Volume Alert: Exide Tech (XIDE)

Exide Technologies (NASDAQ: XIDE) has already hits its average daily volume.  At 11:57 AM EST we have seen 1,09 million shares trade versus a 945,000 average daily volume.  Shares are up 11% at $6.07.  There are two bits of news… earnings were yesterday and this morning it said that the Obama administration’s American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 of $2.4 billion awarded a grant of some $34 million to Exide.  The market cap is $462 million and the 52-week trading range is $1.83 to $14.46. -JON OGG
