AIG Potentially Leaderless (AIG)

American International Group, Inc. (NYSE: AIG) is under pressure.  The company could find itself leaderless again.  Its new CEO Benmosche reportedly notified the board of directors that he was considering stepping down because of the tasks of operating the business under as strict of government control and because salary restrictions are too harsh to bring in talent.  He has supposedly reconsidered, but this is a troubling development as he is supposed to be only one of a few who is actually up to this task and this is not even 90 days on the job.  Shares are down 2.2% at $36.74 on almost 200,000 shares as of 8:52 AM EST, but this should be a much larger story and we’d expect volume to really increase if the man who can save AIG won’t stay on.
