Valuing GE’s NBC Unit (GE)

General Electric Co. (NYSE: GE) was up big on Friday because of the dual analyst upgrades.  Now this morning it is up again as it may have a deal closer to happening now for its NBC Universal operations. Reports have it and and Comcast (CMCSA) agreeing that $30 billion is a fair approximate value of NBC Universal, but it also includes a mechanism to possibly reduce the amount of cash Comcast would have to pay in a transaction.  GE is always an active stock, but at 8:27 AM EST we have a gain of 2.9% at $15.78 on over 550,000 shares.  This amount of share trading will likely come on faster as the opening bell gets closer.
