Buffett Cheering S&P 500 Addition (BRK-B, BNI, BRK-A)

Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (NYSE: BRK-B) (NYSE: BRK-B) is rarely a  top day trader alert stock.  In fact, maybe once. But last night it was announced that the S&P 500 Index will replace Burlington Northern Santa Fe (NYSE: BNI) with Berkshire Hathaway on a date TBA.

At 8:38 AM EST we have seen 525,000 shares trade hands in the B-shares and the stock is up 8% at $73.79.

Keep in mind that this traded 1.4 million shares in the after-hours session last night and shares were listed as an exit in the after-hours time cut off at $73.59.
