CIENA Continues (CIEN)

CIENA Corp. (NASDAQ: CIEN) had a huge trading day on Tuesday.  The hope, rumor, or gossip was that perhaps the Nokia-Siemens JV may now want to bid for all of CIENA now that CIENA won the metro ethernet assets of Nortel.  Shares rose $0.84 to $11.86 yesterday on 19.9 million shares and there were over 24,000 CALL Option contracts traded for JAN-2010 and over 16,000 CALL Option contracts traded for FEB-2010 expiration dates.  We have not seen any news this morning but at 8:34 AM EST we have seen over 134,000 shares trade hands and the last print was up 2.5% at $12.15.  Just about 5 minutes ago the stock was trading up almost 4% at $12.33.  Today may be another active day for CIENA stock and options.
